Empowerment Construction & Development (ECD) is a woman-led, licensed general contracting firm based in Newark, New Jersey, specializing in accessible construction, environmental modifications, and aging-in-place solutions. Our mission is to build stronger communities—one project at a time—by integrating accessibility, safety, and sustainability into every design.

As one of the only construction firms in New Jersey approved to provide Assistive Technology and Environmental Modification evaluations through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), ECD bridges the gap between clinical assessments and construction execution.

Our multidisciplinary team includes occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and licensed trades professionals who work collaboratively to design and implement ADA-compliant home adaptations, accessibility renovations, and inclusive housing environments that promote independence and dignity.
